Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
This policy covers the Frettio iPhone and Apple Watch apps and this website. Frettio is maintained by an independent developer and provides practice records, tuning, a metronome and guitar references. Privacy contact: support@cocoboloa.com.
Data on your devices
Practice records (dates, duration, project content and edits), active timers and recovery information, practice projects, recent durations, tuning presets and preferences are stored on your device. We do not operate an app account system or a business server receiving your practice records or audio. The apps have no advertising, cross-app tracking or third-party analytics SDKs.
Microphone and audio
With microphone permission, the tuner analyzes sound in device memory to estimate frequency and provide tuning feedback. Audio is not saved or uploaded. Capture stops when you leave the tuner or the app enters the background. The metronome and reference tones play locally synthesized sound without recording. You can revoke microphone access in system settings.
Optional iCloud sync
iCloud sync on iPhone is enabled by default. When your system iCloud account and network are available, Apple CloudKit synchronizes completed practice records, including entered content, times, revisions and deletion markers, to that account’s private database. An account identifier and sync progress are stored locally to prevent mixing data from different accounts. Frettio does not require a separate account or obtain your Apple account password.
The library links to the first available iCloud account. Sync pauses if you change accounts and can resume with the original account. Active timers, the project library, tuning presets and tool preferences are not uploaded through this cloud sync. Turning sync off stops subsequent transfers without deleting existing local or cloud data. Turning it back on resumes pending work. Sync is not an instant backup and depends on system conditions, connectivity and storage. System device backups are separate and controlled by your system settings.
iPhone and Apple Watch
Paired devices use Apple WatchConnectivity to transfer tuning presets, ordered practice projects, project durations, the default duration and recent durations. Completed Watch practice records are sent to iPhone and acknowledged after the phone saves them. Records on iPhone may then participate in enabled iCloud sync.
When using a phone system alarm, the Watch also sends reminder plans (identifiers, deadlines, state and revisions) and cancellation requests to iPhone, which returns the scheduling result. This contains no recording and does not synchronize the full active timer session. Delivery can be delayed when devices are disconnected.
Notifications and alarms
Completion reminders request notification permission when needed. Choosing system alarms on iOS 26 or later separately requests AlarmKit authorization. Denying permission does not prevent timing or saving but affects reminders. Watch local notifications remain available; phone alarms depend on successful delivery and scheduling. You can change reminder preferences and permissions in the app and system settings.
Network services, external links and this website
Version checks send the app identifier and storefront region to Apple’s lookup service, not your practice content. StoreKit provides the storefront region to select relevant app links; this is not location tracking. Opening the App Store, Rednote or your email app is subject to those services’ policies.
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process IP addresses, request times, browser information and other request data to deliver and secure the website. This site uses no advertising, analytics scripts, forms or tracking cookies. See the Apple Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy for their practices.
Deletion, retention and contact
Deleting a practice removes it from lists and statistics. To prevent an offline device from uploading an old copy again, the device and enabled iCloud sync retain a full record snapshot with a deletion marker, including original content and revisions. There is currently no automatic expiry or restore feature. In-app deletion therefore does not immediately erase every copy. Avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information in practice projects.
Uninstalling removes that device’s local app data, but does not automatically remove copies on a paired device, in iCloud or in system backups. For cloud or backup removal, check Apple’s iCloud storage management; available controls depend on the system. Removing cloud data may pause local sync. The developer cannot access your private iCloud records on your behalf; contact us for guidance on available removal options.
Your email address, messages and attachments voluntarily sent to support are used to handle your request and necessary follow-up, not advertising. Avoid sending sensitive content. You may request access, correction or deletion of support correspondence we hold. We retain it for the time needed to handle requests and meet applicable legal obligations. Children should use the app with a guardian’s guidance. Contact us if a child has submitted personal information to us.
Policy updates
We will update this page and relevant App Store privacy information when features or data practices change. New uses requiring authorization will be explained and consent requested as applicable. For privacy or support questions, contact the email above.
